Winter Light grounds admission ticket includes:

• Grounds
• Illuminated light trail
• Manor façade illuminations
• Illuminated trail on Miss Alice’s Drive
• Immersed in Light, an interactive light installation in the Coach House Gallery

Please note the house has now been ‘put to bed’ and is now completely closed until mid-March.

Grounds admission
• £13.20 Adult, £6.60 Child,
• National Trust members: free

Shuttle bus
• £2.50 Adult, £1.50 Child
• Free for Blue Badge holders and registered carer
• Wheelchair, mobility scooters, pushchairs and buggies free

Premium Parking
• £20 per car

Limited number of spaces in the private car park at the top of the hill behind the North Fountain must be booked with your Grounds admission (see map)

Advance booking online
We recommend pre-booking your Grounds admission, bus tickets and premium parking spaces. All visitors must have their own valid tickets, which must be produced, along with any valid membership card, to gain entry to the event.

Separate tickets should be booked for additional elements – shuttle buses, premium parking and roast lunches

Book tickets

We recommend pre-booking your Grounds admission, especially if you are planning to purchase Premium Parking or book a roast lunch in the Manor Restaurant.

Bus tickets can be booked in advance along with Grounds admission or on the day.

Memberships
National Trust, Art Fund, HHA and RHS members, and local resident pass holders must also pre-book by selecting the relevant ticket type on the ticket page.

Valid membership cards must be produced along with booking to gain entry on the day

Tickets and scanning
After purchasing your tickets online, within an hour you will receive a confirmation email from See Tickets with your entry tickets attached as a PDF.

Having your tickets ready to scan on arrival speeds up admission. Ideally, please have your PDF tickets open on your mobile phone or tablet when you arrive or print them at home. It is advisable to pre-download your tickets or take a photo of each of them, as signal onsite fluctuates. All tickets for your party will be in the same attachment; we suggest you all enter at the same time. The ticket barcodes are unique, so if you can’t arrive together please separate them carefully as any duplicated barcode will not be valid for admission.

Cancellation, exchanges, and refunds
Waddesdon and SeeTickets are not able to offer exchanges or refunds once tickets have been purchased. We are also not able to offer refunds/duplicates on unwanted/lost tickets.

Please be sure that you have chosen the right date and time slot at the time of making your booking, as Waddesdon and See Tickets are not able to offer exchanges or refunds once tickets have been purchased. We are also not able to offer refunds/duplicates on unwanted/lost tickets.

Bad weather or safety cancellation
Inevitably bad weather can affect any open-air event. If we have to cancel the event as it is unsafe to proceed (for example high wind, heavy snowfall or icy conditions), visitors will be automatically refunded and will be able to rebook for an alternative date. No refunds will be offered simply if the weather is inclement. Any decision to cancel the event will be taken by 9am on the day of an event.

Please note, ticket enquiries cannot be dealt with by Waddesdon or the National Trust.

Your Grounds ticket is valid for the hour of your arrival, eg arriving between 1.00-1.59pm for a 1pm timeslot. Hour-long arrival timeslots are to ensure visitor arrivals are spread throughout the day. Our team on the ground will do their best to accommodate late arrivals.

This year, there are two sections to our illuminated light trail.

The part of the illuminated light trail around the Pleasure Grounds is almost all on flat and tarmac surfaces. The part of the trail down Miss Alice’s Drive has an unfinished surface and steep gradients which may be challenging in wet conditions and unsuitable for all mobility requirements.

Please select one of the parking, shuttle bus or walking options when you book online.

• Walking to the Manor takes about 25-30 mins from the car park, along a lit, hard-surface path which has a steep section
• Premium Parking spaces can be booked online, £20 per car, these are in the private car park at the top of the hill behind the North fountain, see location on map
• Bus tickets £2.50 Adult  £1.50 Child (3-17 years) can be booked online with your admission tickets or on the day
• Bus tickets are valid for all journeys made on the day of your visit
• Free visitor car park includes Blue Badge parking
• Blue Badge holders and their carer must each book a bus ticket (free of charge)
• Last buses to visitor car park 7.30pm

Winter Light at Waddesdon is an event presented in the natural landscape and Waddesdon is on a hill. Most visitors will walk from the car park along a hard-surface path, which includes steep sections; this path may not be suitable for all pushchairs and buggies.

Pre-booking a Premium parking space or shuttle bus tickets at the time of booking admission tickets is recommended for those who might find the walk difficult.

Premium Parking allows you to park nearer the Manor and will allow for greater ease of access but is not advised for Blue Badge or disabled visitors. Blue Badge parking is in the main car park and free bus tickets for users/companions should be booked with admission tickets. Bus tickets are valid for all journeys on the day.

There is a steep path to the Stables, we recommend those with mobility requirements take the bus from North Fountain to the Stables.

Wheelchairs are available to borrow on a first come first served basis, these cannot be reserved.

Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome in most outdoor areas. There are lots of lights, cables and speakers at doggy level which may cause your dog distress. We would suggest that the experience might not be suitable for our four-legged friends as the Winter Light trail features moving and sudden lights and sounds.

Hot and cold refreshments are available from the Coffee Bar, Woodland Toyshop & Takeaway and Stables Takeaway.

In the Manor Restaurant, roast lunches will be served (pre-booking essential or speak with staff on the day).

At the Stables Café, enjoy freshly-made fish & chips.

If you are booking a lunch, please select a restaurant sitting at least 30 minutes after your Grounds admission to allow sufficient time to get to the restaurant.

Those with special dietary requirements, please complete the text box requesting vegetarian, vegan, gluten-, dairy- or nut-free afternoon tea. This appears under Additional Information after confirming your ticket selection, payment, and order details when checking out.

• Toilets are open (including at the Welcome Pavilion)
• The Changing Places accessible toilet within the Manor is available for those who need it
• Drinking water taps are provided near the Woodland Playground, Coffee Bar and at the Stables

This is an outdoor event and there is very limited shelter. Please make sure you wear appropriate warm, waterproof clothing and footwear.

Lighting may be low level in parts of the grounds, so you may wish to bring a torch.

We occasionally use photographs taken at Winter Light at Waddesdon for promotional purposes. If there is photography taking place on the day of your visit there will be signs to notify you and your permission will be sought before taking your photograph.
