Fonseca Crusted Port, bottled in 2008, Oporto Portugal£22.00 More info & buy The port is matured for a short time in barrel and then rested in the bottle for five years before release. During this period the sediment, which is always unfiltered, forms a crust in the bottle. Therefore giving you a "vintage character" without a vintage price tag. The complexity and layers of flavours are truly stunning. The rich chracters of roasted plum and raisin are followed by subtle eucalyptus notes. The finish is impressive and very elegant. Ensure to decant and filter.
Housekeeper’s Damson Gin£28.95 More info & buy Intense and slightly tart, the flavour starts sweetly and finishes like old fashioned cherry drop sweets. Just as you begin to think this gin is simply sweet a wonderful freshness cuts in and cleans the palate ready for another sip. Only 180 bottles of this Damson Gin were produced. This fantastic tipple is as wonderful as it is versatile; serve neat for the ultimate winter warmer, top up with Champagne to make a 'Damn Shame' or alternatively serve neat and cold with summer pudding.
