Get up close and personal with birds of prey! Learn about their habits, habitats, and history as well as how you can help them in the wild.

Feeling brave? Put on a handlers glove and have the chance to hold the birds yourself.

The Bewonderment Machine

Accompanied by original music the Bewonderment Machine is an artist-built cycle-powered carousel, a kinetic public sculpture and a magical journey for small children.

The Birds

These giant birds with their stunning fanned tails entertain and inspire audiences, accompanied by Major Apus, the avid birdwatcher and wildlife enthusiast. Audience interaction is encouraged either by a hug and a selfie with The Birds themselves, or a chat with Major Apus.

Makendoo Workshops

Children of all ages can join in the fun, painting and making a huge range of masks, hats, puppet characters or small banners, all finished off with plenty of glitter to provide an instant carnival atmosphere whatever the occasion. Up to 240 children leave the workshop carrying, wearing and waving their artworks, which are lasting souvenirs of a great day out.

Waddesdon is open from Wednesday-Sundays and tickets are available for the Grounds and for timed entry to the House and Gardens. We recommend that all visitors pre-book, including National Trust Members, to avoid disappointment.
