Our story

5 outdoor adventures to have this summer

Summer is the perfect time to get outdoors and into nature. We've compiled five easy adventures to have either at home or in the gardens at Waddesdon to keep the whole family entertained.

1) Picnic in the wild

With plenty of room in the grounds and many idyllic spots to enjoy an al fresco lunch, we’ve popped together some suggestions for where you can spread out your blanket.

2) 50 things to do before you’re 11¾

Create wild art, build a den or get to know a tree. These are just some of the fun adventures you can have this summer with 50 things.

3) Photograph nature

Photography course for children and teens

4) Discover nature through the senses

Follow this trail as you wander through the grounds and experience Waddesdon through your senses. Touch the rough surface of the tree ferns and stop to listen to the birds sing in the Aviary.

5) Become a bird watcher

Keep your eyes peeled for wild birds, from small blue tits to giant red kites. Don’t forget you can also watch and listen to the birds call in our Aviary, some of which are quite rare.
