Waddesdon On Screen

The magic of Waddesdon, a French Renaissance-style Loire chateau in the heart of Buckinghamshire, has been captured many times on screen.

It was first used as a location in the 1960s and since then has provided the backdrop for some major feature films, as well as some of our best-loved TV dramas, documentaries and series, commercial adverts and national broadcasts for The BBC, ITV and Channel 4.

Playing host to small and large productions and working with world class studios, we have also been privileged to work with world-renowned directors including Alan Rickman, Ben Wheatley, Guy Ritchie and Ridley Scott.

In 2001 Waddesdon featured in Yash Johar’s Bollywood musical  Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which was described by The Guardian as ‘A streaming gem, the perfect introduction to the gloriously kitsch, melodramatic musical genre. Watch the trailer >

Most recently, the gardens and interiors have featured in Netflix series Queen Charlotte and The Crown Series 5. In 2021 Waddesdon was the main location in Sony Pictures adaptation of classic fairy-tale Cinderella written and directed by Kay Cannon.
