Christmas volunteering
Christmas is an exciting and busy time at Waddesdon. Every year we welcome thousands of visitors to see spectacular displays inside the house and stunning light shows around the grounds. We're looking for volunteers to help make this year's festivities even more amazing.
We need your help!
From 10 Nov until 2 Jan 2019
Both inside and out, the Christmas displays will take inspiration from the wondrous festivals and celebrations conjured up by Waddesdon’s treasured artworks – from sumptuous feasts, lavish gifts and masked balls to theatre, fancy dress and fairy tales.
For us to create such a magical time for visitors takes a lot of work and people, and we rely on an amazing team of volunteers to help us, especially at Christmas time.
Would you like to join us? We have the following roles available this year:
Christmas crew
Working between visitor operations and retail, you could be a House Host, Welcome Host or work in our busy shops as this fast-paced role encompasses many parts of the visitor experience. Every day will be different. It’s the perfect role if you’d like to get experience in the heritage sector and enhance your CV.
Christmas retail volunteer
Use your excellent customer service skills to ensure our visitors get the most out of their Christmas shopping experience. You’ll assist with stock management and general housekeeping duties in order to keep the shops immaculate and well stocked during this incredibly busy season.
Christmas wine shop volunteer
The Rothschild name has long been associated with the world’s greatest wines. You’ll assist visitors with their purchases from an unrivalled stock of Rothschild wines, as well as general duties within the wine shop. An interest in wine is helpful but not essential. This role includes some heavy lifting.
Restaurant welcome host
Help to make our visitors feel at home in our restaurants and cafés by welcoming them, showing them to their tables, answering any queries and providing Christmas cheer. You could find yourself in our Manor Restaurant or our Stables Café during our busy Christmas season.
Christmas house host
Inside the house, visitors will be dazzled by the magical decorations and wonderful trees sparkling with lights. With a friendly and approachable nature, you’ll help to welcome visitors of all ages and ensure they experience a wonderful Christmas visit.
