We can accommodate a maximum of ninety children.

We accept school visits any day of the year. Please note that our main season is March to October and the house and grounds are closed to the public between January and late March. This means that facilities such as cafés may be closed.

During November and December, Waddesdon is dressed for Christmas. This means that our Christmas Fair may be on and the house will be partly ‘put to bed’.

All our workshops begin at 10am and finish at 2pm. There is an hour for lunch between 12pm and 1pm.

Our Education Room is available for use at lunchtimes. It can accommodate sixty children; if you are bringing more than sixty children on your visit, we have another room available but your group will be split up.

We have dedicated coach park area near our North Fountain, a three minute walk from the house.

Payment must be made two weeks in advance. If you cancel your visit with us with less than two weeks’ notice, no refund will be issued. If you cancel prior to two weeks, we can offer a full refund.

During the 2021/22 academic year we will accept amendments to your visit date should your school be affected by a local lockdown or other Covid-19 related issue. You must notify us in writing prior to your visit date, visits may be rescheduled within the 2021/22 academic year only.

We reserve the right to postpone your visit, if there are circumstances beyond our control which affect your trip, e.g. bad weather, filming, staff illness. We will try very hard to avoid this, and will offer a full refund or the opportunity to change dates.

We are able to offer full access to the main visitor route in the house for pupils using wheelchairs via a lift.

Please note our Education Room does not have full access for those with mobility requirements, but we can arrange an alternative location for our workshops with full access. Please let us know in advance if your party includes any pupils with mobility requirements or special educational needs.

We have a Changing Places facility, with bed and hoist if required.

We offer free tickets for teachers and group leaders to visit Waddesdon to get to know the site and to conduct a risk assessment.

You can also meet a member of our Learning team to discuss your visit, if necessary.

Foundation, Key Stage 1 & 2 classes must provide a ratio of one adult to six pupils.

For secondary schools, classes must provide a ratio of one adult to fifteen pupils.
