Tales from the Archive
22 Mar – 29 Oct 2017, Wed-Sun
12pm-4pm
HouseContinuing from 2016 this exhibition will explore stories of people connected with Waddesdon through the display of archive material and images.
We will continue to highlight research recently carried out on the visitors who signed Waddesdon’s visitors’ book – from Winston Churchill to Henry James and the Earl of Rosebery. Baron Ferdinand’s visitors included the aristocracy, writers, lawyers and politicians. The display will also include records giving details of those who worked at Waddesdon including photographs, wage books and staff record cards.
In its centenary year we will also look at putting the Balfour declaration in context through records relating to James de Rothschild’s Zionist interests.
