The Luna Cinema returns to Waddesdon with two classic films on big screen set against the backdrop of Waddesdon Manor on the North Lawns.
Friday 25 August – Casablanca (1942)
A very special 75th anniversary screening of the film voted the greatest ever made…Casablanca. If you’ve never seen it on the big screen you’re in for a treat as Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman star in this iconic cinematic masterpiece, which still looks as good today as it did 75 years ago. Set in Morocco in December 1941, a cynical American expatriate meets a former love, with unforeseen complications in this classic war time drama.
PG 1 hour 42 minutes
Saturday 26 August – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)
A rare opportunity to see the original Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone back on the big screen. This film offers a fantastic start to the adventure, a first visit to Hogwarts and of course the youthful Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson making their screen debuts. Rescued from the outrageous neglect of his aunt and uncle, a young boy with a great destiny proves his worth while attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
