HouseBefore the house opens to the public, watch the musical elephant automaton be wound, and be guided through the ground floor of the house, exploring Waddesdon’s collection of 18th-century French decorative arts, English portraits and Dutch Old Master paintings.
Discover the history behind the building of the Manor and the family who still preserve the house today. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore the remaining floors of the the house at your leisure.
Following your visit to the house, explore our spectacular gardens. Waddesdon’s gardens were the vision of Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild, who created the Manor at the end of the 19th century. What began as a bare hill in 1874, is now an exceptional example of Victorian horticulture including formal gardens, tree and walks.
