In this relaxed talk, discover the fascinating story behind our exhibition, Alice’s Wonderlands, which shines a spotlight on Alice de Rothschild, the second owner of Waddesdon.

Alice de Rothschild (1847-1922) was a passionate and expert gardener and great collector of Renaissance and 18th-century art. Her story has often been overshadowed by that of her brother, Ferdinand, who built Waddesdon Manor. But not any more…

Join Mia Jackson, Curator of Decorative Arts and Catherine Taylor, Head of Archives and Records, to learn more about our Aliceā€™s Wonderlands displays in the Exhibition Room and Family Room in the house. Mia and Catherine will tell you about the research they did for these exhibitions and spotlight some of their favourite stories and objects, revealing more about how Alice changed Waddesdon in her 24 years in charge. Come and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while you listen to them and have the opportunity to ask questions.
