Five Letters to Miss Alice de Rothschild from Mr J M Tuohy(?). The letters express his opinions and thoughts about the political and military situation thoughout Europe during the First World War period. One letter mentions the agitation felt in official circles at 'an alleged movement among English Catholics in support of the Pope's peace move'. The letters were addressed to Miss Alice while she was staying in Bournemouth.
Two letters are handwritten by Mr Tuohy(?) and three are typed.
All the letters are annotated by Miss Alice de Rothschild with notes to her Head Gardener, Mr Johnson at Waddesdon, to whom these letters were subsequently sent.
