Pre-event briefing for Macbeth by TLCM

Pre-event information for those attending The Lord Chamberlain’s Men performance of Macbeth at Waddesdon on Thursday 24 June 2021

This pre-event briefing will provide you with all the information you will require ahead of your visit to us at Waddesdon Manor on Thursday 24 June. Please share this information with the other members of your party to ensure everyone has the most up-to-date information about keeping your visit as safe as possible.

Please do not attend our event if you are exhibiting any Covid-19 symptoms such as:
• a high temperature
• a new, continuous cough
• a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

Timings
Car park and shuttle buses run from 6-7pm and do not run during performances.
The performance will run from 7-8.35pm (95 minute show), without an interval

Shuttle buses return to the car park at the end of the performance. There will be a call for the last bus. Please note that there is no lit pathway back to the car park.

If you need to get back to the car park during the performance please speak to a member of staff at the North Fountain. Buses will be available at the end of the evening to take you back to the car park.

What to bring and wear
This is an outdoor event in the midst of the great British summer, please bring appropriate warm and weather-proof clothing!

No seating is provided, please bring low backed chairs. To aid in social distancing we do advise all patrons to bring a chair to sit on. No gazebos or picnic tables are permitted in the performance area.

You are welcome to bring food and drink (alcohol is permitted) with you. Please ensure that this can be consumed whilst sat in your chair. Glassware is prohibited, except wine bottles, and strictly no fires please.

Light refreshments will be available for purchase and Waddesdon Deli Boards can be purchased and collected on the evening from the Manor Terrace.

Queueing and Seating
The performance will take place at the front of the Manor.

As we are allowing more space between parties, the queue may appear larger than in normal years and we will be taking more time with visitors to ensure their safety. Please rest assured there will be ample room for all ticket holders, and everyone will have a great view.

You will be sat in a specific location by a member of the company and sat at an appropriate distance from other audience members so as to ensure that we comply with the necessary level of audience social distancing as required at the time. Please have your chair/s ready and when directed move into place to get set and sat down as quickly as possible. WIthin your party we ask that you sit as close together as possible.

You will notice we have marked clear lines on the ground where you will need to set your chair; please set the back legs of your chair on this line.

We ask you to be patient with us during seating and that you don’t attempt to seat yourselves as we need to ensure there is appropriate spacing between individual parties.

Whilst waiting to be seated, please make sure you are keeping appropriate social distance from the party in front.

PPE
Please wear a face mask/covering at all times whilst in the venue. However, once you are sat in your designated seating position you may take your mask/face covering off.

There will be hand sanitiser stations scattered throughout the venue. Please use them regularly; they are there to help keep us all safe.

During the Performance
There will not be an interval this year and the performance will be approximately 95 minutes long. The toilets will be open before, during and after the performance.

After the Performance
Once the show has finished, please pack up your belongings, don your mask/face covering and, as soon as you are ready, please leave the performance space. As you do so we ask that you please continue to maintain social distancing at all times.

Please ensure you have all of your personal belongings and take any rubbish away with you.

Company Safety Measures
Please do not approach or touch the stage, nor attempt to go backstage.

This year we have gone to extraordinary lengths to create a COVID secure bubble for our company, meaning that throughout the tour they must undergo extensive testing and segregate from everyone outside of their ‘bubble’. This is so that we can continue to take the show to each and every one of our venues. We kindly ask that you respect that.

We absolutely love hearing from you (especially when you say nice things about the show) but we ask this year for you to do that on social media, email or with a socially distanced wave!

Thank you for your support and we are very pleased that you have chosen to come and see us as we all begin our return to live events. We hope that you enjoy the performance and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Understanding COVID-19
Covid-19 virus is a public health emergency and is recognised as a hazard to be assessed. The virus can be transmitted through airborne water droplets expelled from the body (sneezing, coughing, breathing, talking loudly), transferred to hands and therefore surfaces. It can survive on surfaces for a period after transfer depending on surface type, moisture content and temperature. If Covid-19 is passed from one person to another, some may die of the disease or be severely affected. It must be recognised as a high hazard and measures introduced to reduce the risk of infection & transmission as far as reasonably practicable.
