Waddesdon's Christmas in Numbers 2023

This year we wanted to highlight of hard work and thought that has been put into making Christmas at Waddesdon so magical. From baubles to lights, to Christmas trees and garlands, here are just some of the figures included in decorating the Manor and the Coach House down at the Stables inspired by Yuval Zommer's book The Lights That Dance In the Night.

Inside the Manor decked out for Christmas

35,000 lights were installed inside the house

5 real trees were chosen and shaped specifically for Waddesdon Manor

30 artificial trees in various sizes used throughout the house

Over 8, 000 baubles and decorations used to decorate the trees and garlands. Many of which are handmade and bespoke to Waddesdon.

The Lights that Dance in the Night at the Coach House

14,541 local school children were involved producing the decorations used within the Coach House

3,000 snowflakes were made by local school children for the installation

The 6,000 ‘swooshes’ found on the Coach House walls say what bring the 14,541 local school children joy.
