Celebrating British Food
We are coming to the end of British Food Fortnight, a celebration of British food, and the health benefits and pleasures of eating quality, fresh, seasonal and regionally distinct produce.
At Waddesdon, there are lots of local delights to tuck in to, including produce grown on the estate. Here are just a few food highlights you can enjoy on your next visit to Waddesdon.
Beer and Pie month
As part of our Beer & Pie month, we have created a mouth-watering apple crumble pie baked using home grown apples from the gardens of Eythrope and served with custard. There are also four savoury British pies to choose from, served with complimenting sides. Visit the Stables Café from 5 – 30 October, Wednesday – Sunday, to enjoy a delicious pie and a local beer.
Seasonal lunch at the Manor Restaurant
Our talented team of chefs pride themselves on serving local, creative and fresh dishes. Head to the Manor Restaurant to enjoy our autumn lunch menu, Wednesday – Saturday. You can also book a traditional Sunday Lunch with all of the trimmings until 16 October.
English Afternoon Tea
Created in-house by Craig, our talented head pâtissier, a traditional English Afternoon Tea is the perfect way to celebrate your visit to Waddesdon. Over October half-term, our afternoon teas have a spooky twist that is sure to delight and surprise.
Locally roasted coffee
Stop by our new coffee bar, located just outside the Gift & Wine Shop, and choose a delicious homemade cake or sandwich to accompany a coffee from Redemption Roasters, our local supplier who offer speciality coffee roasted inside their prison roastery at HMP The Mount.
Local Produce to take home
We sell a selection of local produce at the Manor shop, including the new Waddesdon Rothschild Collection. Some food highlights from the collection include our chocolate, honey and chilli oils. Our three delicious chocolate bars are handmade by an artisan Chocolatier based in York using sustainably sourced cocoa beans and our honey is produced from the twenty hives on the Waddesdon estate and over a hundred hives around Buckinghamshire. Our chilli oils are also produced locally, just 13 miles down the road in Wilstone, Tring.
Make sure to visit the Manor shop on your next visit to check out the full collection!
