Light artist Bruce Munro and his daughter, Tink, collaborate on this exhibition taking place in the newly renovated Coach House Gallery.
Bruce’s work has long been rooted in the emotional and physical inspiration of place and memory, while Tink is also deeply concerned about the environment and the challenges it faces. The new work by Bruce combines digital photography, light, projection and sound to evoke his ideas, including a piece which translates the music of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons into dynamic light. Tink’s work uses barkcloth, pierced and back-lit, to create an ethereal commentary on the natural environment.

British artist Bruce Munro is best known for immersive large-scale light-based installations inspired largely by his interest in shared human experience. Recording ideas and images in sketchbooks has been his practice for over 40 years. By this means he has captured his responses to stimuli such as music, literature, science, and the world around him for reference, reflection, and subject matter. This tendency has been combined with a liking for components and an inventive urge for reuse, coupled with career training in manufacture of light. As a result, Munro produces both monumental, temporary experiential artworks as well as intimate story-pieces.

Tink Munro is a creative professional with a passion for combining artistic expression with conservation. She has gained valuable experience in designing impactful visual content, leading large-scale installations, and contributing to sustainable focused initiatives that inspire change and foster connection with the natural world.
