Each week, we feature one of our incredible local producers, that have product in our Gift and Wine shop- sharing their story, their business, and the products they recommend most. This week, we are introducing The Chocolate Gift Company.
Behind the Brand
Everything you discover from The Chocolate Gift Company, from their delightfully quirky chocolate shapes to their oh-so-memorable packaging, starts as a spark of imagination. Every single design is dreamed up, designed, and illustrated by Lauren. To bring these visions to life, she partners with an amazing team in their Bedfordshire factory, as well as fellow small-batch makers scattered across the Great British Isles. It’s a true labor of love, combining local craftsmanship with a passion for the unexpected.
Chocolate with a Conscience
Of course, beautiful designs mean nothing without incredible ingredients. Cocoa is the superstar, and they believe it should do good while tasting good. They are incredibly proud to say that 100% of their cocoa is ethically sourced. By choosing ethical beans, they are able to support foundations that help farmers protect their livelihoods, invest in their local communities, and sustain their farms for generations to come. It’s sweet satisfaction you can truly feel good about.
Packaging Made to Be Treasured (Not Trashed)
They love our planet just as much as they love chocolate. That’s why 99% of their packaging is completely plastic-free and designed with a second life in mind. “Many of our customers have let us know how much they still love their token tins and keepsake boxes long after their treats have been devoured!” Their playful designs make for the perfect gifts, and they’re simply made to be treasured for years to come.
Doing Our Part, Together
Taking responsibility for their environmental footprint is at the core of what they do. They love seeing their customers get creative with their packaging, and they want to encourage everyone to recycle, reuse, and home compost whenever possible.
By making conscious choices together, we can protect our wonderful home planet-one keepsake box at a time.
Waddesdon Manor’s exclusive range:
See some of the initial drawings, concept sketches, and mood boards created during the development of the bespoke Poupons range for Waddesdon Manor. These early creative stages helped shape the final products and packaging, giving an insight into the design process behind the collection

The final product:

Poupon’s Paws – Waddesdon Chocolates
A box of chocolate truffle paws featuring a charming illustration of Poupon Rothschild sat on his haunches, paws raised, begging for treats (possibly for dog-friendly chocolate paws!). These chocolates are most definitely for humans, however, containing a delicious mix of milk chocolate orange truffles and white chocolate cookies & cream truffles.

Poupon’s Treats – Waddesdon Chocolates
A box of milk and white chocolate bones featuring a fetching portrait of Poupon Rothschild. (Chocolate bones only for human consumption.. sorry Poupon).
Poupon was Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild’s beloved pet poodle. He was trained to perform tricks for Ferdinand’s house guests, such as jumping over a course set up in the East Gallery at Waddesdon and is depicted in a portrait sat on his haunches, paws raised begging for treats.
