Waddesdon Manor is a French Renaissance-style château set within a 6,000-acre estate in Buckinghamshire. Built in the 1870s by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild to house his world-class art collections and entertain society, it features richly decorated interiors, English portraits, Dutch Old Masters, French decorative arts, and changing exhibitions.
Left to the National Trust in 1957, Waddesdon is now managed by the Rothschild Foundation, which continues to enhance the collections with both 18-century and contemporary art. The gardens include a Victorian Parterre, a Rococo Aviary, Pulham rockwork, and intricate bird bedding sculptures, reflecting the Rothschilds’ pioneering approach to gardening.
