Secondary Schools
Our secondary workshops give pupils a hands-on look at Waddesdon Manor’s history, culture, tourism and careers. Through tours, activities and discussions, they explore the House, gardens and collections, making real-world connections while developing critical thinking, creativity and teamwork in an engaging and memorable way.

Leisure & Tourism
A full-day workshop exploring how Waddesdon Manor operates as a major tourist attraction. Pupils will examine visitor facilities, promotional materials, and community engagement, and have the chance to tour the grounds independently, learning from staff and visitors.

Revolution!
An in-depth house tour focusing on objects linked to the French Revolution. Pupils will explore favour and promotion in the Ancien Régime through Gabriel de Saint-Aubin’s petition, experience the opulence of Louis XV and XVI’s courts, and examine prints spanning the Revolution up to 1800.

Communications & Culture
A half-day workshop looking at objects of desire. A chance to get an in-depth tour of the house, with a focus on how Waddesdon Manor’s collection is relevant to theories of conspicuous consumption. Pupils will look at theorists including Veblen, the Frankfurt School, Bernays and De Certeau.

Careers at Waddesdon
