Moulin de Duhart 2020 A.C. Pauillac, France
£62.50 – £337.50
Château Duhart-Milon’s second wine is selected on the same basis as the “Grand Vin”. In general, the grapes are from the younger plots in the vineyard. Moulin de Duhart has several similar comparisons to the Grand Vin displaying that classic Lafite minerality with layers of complexity and elegance. Moulin will drink much better in it’s youth than its counterpart. The 2019 vintage is one of the best young Moulin de Duhart we have tasted.
Tasting notes
Moulin de Duhart is the most cost-effective way of experiencing Lafite’s celebrated ‘house style’. This Merlot rich Pauillac embodies Lafite’s renowned elegance and sophistication. The climatic conditions of 2019 were ideal producing a rich fruit-forward vintage with great structure and ability to cellar. After decanting there’s black cherries, cassis, cloves and lavender with classic minerality and pencil shavings. Generous and supple on the palate. A wonderful Moulin with richness and freshness leading to a lengthy finish.

Reserve Speciale Pauillac 2021, A.C. Pauillac, France
£45.00 – £243.00 Buy DBR Lafite have produced a rich yet precise Pauillac, similar in style to the 1990 vintage. Lafite rarely does exuberance, true to form the aroma needs coaxing from the glass. After a few minutes there's cool blackberry coulis, warm slate, fresh tobacco, cedar, violets and graphite. The palate is compact and concentrated with fine tannins. You can feel the quality, but it is slightly reserved in the mid-palate. Whilst it offers very enjoyable drinking you can't help feel its best days lay ahead. It is very 'Lafite' in style and typical of the vintage.
