Selected for Waddesdon’s guest wines due to its quality, rarity and complexity. Planted in 2011, the vineyard was specially selected in the Tricao Estate for it’s ability to grow superb Petit Verdot. Petit Verdot doesn’t come without it’s challenges, one that the team at Apaltagua are more than equipped for, ensuring only the best fruit makes it to bottle. This is a unique, 100% single varietal expression which showcases its richness, depth and intensity. Waddesdon has complete UK exclusivity on this wine.
Tasting notes
The wine has a deep, inky, ruby colour with elegant and complex fruit and spice aromas, notes of blackberries, strawberries, tobacco, and ground black pepper. On the palate it is well structured, with soft, round and and rich tannins. The finish is long, velvety and intense. This is a big wine!

£17.95 – £90.00 Buy Deep and intense ruby in colour, this Carignan has a powerful nose of wild fruits including bramble, blackberry and cherry, as well as some undertones of flora and pepper. The oak contact is well integrated, offering notes of smoke, cocoa nib and cedar. The resulting wine is deep, fresh, aromatic and has amazing purity and persistence on the finish. This is an incredible wine, of which only a few thousand bottles are produced.
