Attems Trebes 2017, D.O.C. Collio, Italy
£22.00£15.95 Buy This is one of those wines that has a bit of everything, but nothing in excess. It is the epitome of balance. It grabs your interest right from the moment it hits the glass; the colour is a rich golden yellow. The nose starts off with savoury notes then evolves towards jasmine, tea leaf, cedar, thyme and flowers. After some oxygen the fruit comes through in the form of buttery pear, apricot and fig. The palate has great weight and body, but it isn't overbearing, there's just the right amount of acidity to sharpen things up. After the fruit fades you'll find a touch of minerality and salinity on the finish. Take a bow the folks from Attems. This is great stuff! -
Flores de Callejo 2011 Magnum, Ribera Del Duero Spain
£39.95 Buy A deep ruby with an opaque core and garnet rim. The nose exudes pungent notes of tobacco, mushroom, cherries, balsamic and sweet damson. The palate is muscular, perfectly paired with smoked red meats. The texture is supple and the tannins have melted into the background leaving tobacco infused fruit and earthy spice. A great value, complex magnum! -
Attems Cicinis 2017, Collio, Italy
£29.95 Buy Elegant straw yellow with green highlights, the nose is energetic with notes of thyme, nettles, and sage leaf followed by broom flowers and elderberry with light undertones of delicately spiced vanilla and ginger. On the palate the wine is expressive with fresh citrus and tomato leaf notes. The finish is persistent and dense, with a great balance of richness and zip. In our opinion, this is quite possibly the best Sauvignon Blanc Italy have ever produced. -
Attems Ribolla Gialla 2019, Venezia, Italy
£19.95 Buy This bright straw-yellow wine has a delicate aroma of dandelion, hay and mimosa. The palate is fresh and flavourful with an aftertaste of lime and yellow melon. The variety expresses its great flavour in the firm, saline finish. Ribollo Gialla is a vastly underappreciated variety that packs loads of intensity in a creamy mouth feel with great freshness. -
Attems Pinot Grigio 2019, Friuli DOC, Italy
£19.95 Buy The wine is a clear, straw yellow. The nose expresses great personality with fresh aromas of white peach, citrus peel and wildflowers as well as definite scents of thyme and toasted bread. In its structured body we find a wine with balance and complexity with a persistent finish of white pepper, avocado and walnut. Let's be clear, Italian Pinot Grigio can bring to the thought of mass produced generic insipid green fruit. Attems Pinot Grigio is on a different planet altogether. This is what Pinot Grigio can achieve when in the hands of a producer focusing on quality, not quantity. -
Chateau Malescasse 2000, Cru Bourgeois A.C. Bordeaux

Fonseca Crusted Port, bottled in 2015, Oporto Portugal
£22.00£16.95 Buy The port is matured for a short time in barrel and then rested in the bottle for three years prior to release. During this period the sediment, which is always unfiltered, forms a crust in the bottle. Therefore giving you a "vintage character" without a vintage price tag. The complexity and layers of flavours are truly stunning. The rich characters of sweet blueberry and raisin are followed by subtle eucalyptus notes and a marzipan finish. Due to the youthfulness of this Port, decanting will indeed help develop flavours, but it is not vital as a 'crust' has yet to form. -
Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2014, Appledore Kent
£38.95 Buy Rich and golden in colour, with a delicate mousse and aromas of honeyed citrus fruits, white peach and brioche in the glass. The palate is suffused with red apples, poached pears and bright red berry fruit, displaying more developed notes of freshly baked bread and apple pie and a long, rounded finish. -
Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2013, Appledore Kent

The palate provides vibrant and ripe acidity with soft, creamy development.
