  £80.00 – £432.00 Buy Opulent and alluring. This Pomerol is very 2019 stylistically with it's suave, juicy and generously textured fruit. It doesn't feel like a second wine, there's nothing thin about this wine. It feels luscious and dense yet approachable and open for business now. The nose kicks off with layers of black cherry, charred vanilla, cocoa, tobacco, spicy oak and blueberry coulis. The tannins feel ripe and there's an exotic element to the wine with fairly low acidity and super juicy fruit. A polished finish hints a cloves and cassis with touches of dark chocolate. Great stuff from DBR Lafite.

This superb Viognier shows great typicity with notes of honeysuckle, citrus peel, vanilla, tangerine and honey. Rather than being fermented, bottled and released in a frantic fashion; this Viognier is rested for 8 months on the lees which provides great depth and texture. The palate has freshness, weight and richness in equal measure. A lovely clean floral finish rounds of the experience.  A fabulous wine at less than £10.00 -  No room for complaints here folks!

  £12.75 Buy Harvested at night to preserve the integrity of the grape skin and help retain natural purity of aroma. This beautiful Chardonnay derives from the coolest vineyards in the Languedoc close to the border of Étang de Thau. The freshness and energy of this Chardonnay is exceptional. The winemakers have introduced a very small amount of oak interaction, with 15% of the wine being aged in French oak; this helps to add texture and creaminess to the energetic core. Quince, honey, peach and ginger make up a pretty nose that is followed by an elegant rounded palate.

Old vines are not usually the source of fruit for wines that accommodate the sub of £10.00 bracket;  another wonderful trait this new collection of wines has to offer. A small proportion of the wine (10%) is aged in French oak. This helps to provide the merlot fruit with spice and texture. Spicy notes with eucalyptus and red fruit aromas on the nose, followed by sweet fruits and mellow tannins on the palate. An approachable and moreish Merlot!

  Waddesdon Rothschild Collection Pinot Noir, IGP Pays d’Oc, France

  £12.75 – £72.00 Buy Sourced from a cool vineyard near Limoux which is planted on Marl from the Oligocene period. This is ideal soil for the production of great Pinot Noir. Just 20% of the wine has been aged in French oak which adds a toasty spicy depth. There's plenty of fruit and fairly muscular frame which leads to a spicy liquorice finish. This actually fairly full bodied, it's got a nice core of juicy red fruit and loads of sweet earthy spice. A powerful and confident Pinot.

  £12.75 – £72.00 Buy Sourced from southern facing vineyards on the edge of Montpellier, this Syrah has a wonderful balance of ripeness and freshness. A two week fermentation on the skins has draw a wonderful robe of garnet-red with shimmering highlights. There's plenty of spice that adds depth to the core of ripe fruit; yet this spice doesn't dominate, it just hovers in the background and is happy to let the fruit take the lead role. Unlike some of wines produced in the south of France, this doesn't have excessive levels of alcohol. This is more about approachable elegant fruit with balance and poise. One of favourites' from the range. A cracking wine at less than £10.00.

  £16.95 – £91.50 Buy Very floral nose full of lifted ripe strawberries, vanilla fudge, pepper, toasted spice, savoury oak and hints of blackcurrant. The palate is all red fruits with plums and strawberries at the fore. Mouth-filling yet supple and approachable. After an hour in the decanter this wine delivers a wonderful balance of ripe black fruit and savoury notes. There's a classic restrained feel to this wine, although it has ample levels of ripe fruit that should please the contemporary wine drinker.
