After a few years in the bottle this beautiful wine has shed it's youthful verve, leaving an accomplished elegant feel and an altogether better sense of balance and maturity. On the palate the wine is punchy with concentrated yet refined silky tannins. The oak maturation adds depth and weight to the palate, whilst elevating the level of spice. Escudo Origine represents the finest offering Escudo Rojo produce and will develop nicely in the bottle for a good few years. -

Despite, in essence, this being the entry-level wine of the property, there's nothing thin or dilute about it. This is an incredibly reliable wine that offers great pleasure at £15 a bottle. -
