Chateau L’Evangile, situated in the small appellation of Pomerol, dates back as far as 1741 and was acquired by DBR Lafite in 1989. The vineyard is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and produces richly textured, complex and ripe Merlot based clarets. Tasting notes
2018 was a return to form for many Chateaux in Bordeaux after the challenging 2017 vintage. Dark, dense colour with beautiful glints of violet. Intense nose revealing stone fruit aromas with light vanilla and roasted notes. Full-bodied and generous on the palate culminating in a silky, smooth finish thanks to the sublime quality of the tannins in this 2018 vintage.
