Domaines Barons de Rothschild acquired Viña Los Vascos in 1988, animated by a pioneering spirit and with the vision to reveal the potential of this exceptional land. Today they cultivate a common dream and project: to turn the expansive vineyard of Los Vascos into a rich ecosystem producing the most elegant Chilean wines possible. To mark a decade of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite’s) work in Chile, the first “grande cuvée” LE DIX was created. Le Dix de Los Vascos originates from 75-year-old vines located in the terroir known as “El Fraile”. This is a wine of exceptional complexity, balance and elegance.
This wine presents a deep ruby red colour. The nose is beautifully complex with notes of plums, cherries and liquorice with spicy undertones of nutmeg, cinnamon and white pepper. On the palate, the wine shows a good volume and structure with nice mature tannins balanced by a good concentration. The finish is layered and intense with a lovely balance of fruit and spice. This magnum format will allow the wine to age gracefully for many years to come.
