Domaines Barons de Rothschild acquired Viña Los Vascos in 1988, animated by a pioneering spirit and with the vision to reveal the potential of this exceptional land. Today they cultivate a common dream and project: to turn the expansive vineyard of Los Vascos into a rich ecosystem producing the most elegant Chilean wines possible. Los Vascos’ rosé is made from grapes which are pressed immediately after harvesting. This preserves the freshness, the fruity aromas and the bright colour brought of the juice straight from the vineyard. It is best to drink this wine young to fully enjoy its lively character and finesse.
Tasting notes
Los Vascos Rosé is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah. The 2020 vintage witnessed very cool evenings which has provided the wines with invigorating freshness. Notes of pomegranate, orange blossom, strawberry and pickled red plum make up an interesting an enticing nose. On the palate there’s a lovely balance of acidity to fruit leading to a refreshing and persistent finish.

£15.00 – £81.00 Buy Bright, lively, ruby red colour. Intense, complex nose characterised by fruity notes of cherries, strawberries and plums, harmoniously blended with scents of clove and nutmeg. Medium bodied on the palate with fresh, soft, persistent tannins, combined with a pleasant acidity, producing an easy-to-drink wine, to share on special occasions or enjoy on a daily basis. Despite, in essence, this being the entry-level wine of the property, there's nothing thin or dilute about it. This is an incredibly reliable wine that offers great pleasure at £15 a bottle. -

Los Vascos Cromas Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Colchagua, Chile
£20.00 – £108.00 Buy This wine has an attractive shimmering ruby colour. The nose is fairly pronounced and showy, which is unusual for Los Vascos. Initially there's fresh strawberry, blackberry, red cherry and violets. After thirty minutes of aeration spicy notes join the party with black pepper, bay leaf, cumin, tobacco and graphite. The palate is generous and rich with soft juicy tannins and a long lingering finish.
