Gusbourne estate is located just six miles off the cost in Appledore, Kent. The 200 hectare estate possesses plantings of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir. In 2013 they were awarded the IWSC English producer of the year, and their wines have gone from strength to strength. This Blanc de Blancs is a true expression of their terroir. This stunning wine has been awarded a Platinum medal at Decanters’ world of wine award.
Tasting notes
Pale golden in colour, with a fine mousse. The nose is full of ripe citrus, pink grapefruit and pear, with white floral notes. On the palate, the wine shows generous fruit flavours, highlighting ripe lemon, nectarine and crunchy green apple, with a flinty, saline minerality. Toasted brioche, shortbread and hazelnut notes build layers of complexity, adding to an elegance and energy that combine to create a beautiful example of Blanc de Blancs.
