Chateau de Malengin Eve 2018, A.C. Montagne-Saint-Emilion, France – Black Friday Sale
£28.00
This wine bears the name of Eve, one of Benjamin and Ariane de Rothschild’s four daughters. Eve is thus associated with the revival of Château de Malengin, whose origins date back to 1330. The Château de Malengin Eve cuvée is a wine with a contemporary, fruity and crisp profile, predominantly aged in amphorae (between 50% and 90% depending on the vintage) for 12 months. It breaks with Bordeaux’s traditional codes of barrel ageing and reveals the very essence of the region’s terroir in full candour.
Tasting notes
With only 13,000 bottles created, this rare amphora-aged Merlot exudes a creamy nose of blueberry, cassis and violets. The palate is intense and defined with great concentration of fruit. Serve with a dish rich in protein, or cellar for many years to come.

Château des Laurets Baron 2016, A.C. Puisseguin-St-Emilion, France
£60.00 – £324.00 Buy This is a big St Emilion with lashings of plump ripe fruit and oak derived spice. Not quite a monster, but certainly a wine fit for a gusty supper rather than a light lunch! Made only in the best vintages this is made solely from Merlot. The nose is fantastic with notes of black cherry compote, toasted vanilla, dark chocolate, black forest gateau and cassis. The palate is generous in every department with oodles of black fruit and soft tannins. This beauty will age for a decade, yet after a couple of hours in a decanter it really shows well. -
