Tasting notes
Purity, definition and varietal expression sits at the heart of Chan de Rosas’ stylistic approach. The Cuveé Clasico incorporates hand-harvest Albarino from Lino Sayar. The grapes are gentled rested in stainless steel and aged on the lees for three months. Unlike it’s counterpart, the Cuvee especial, the aim is verve, vitality and energy with no oak influence. The nose, after a gentle swirl in the glass lifts notes of citrus peel, apple skin, elderflower and honeysuckle. The palate is brimming with mineral-focused citrus fruit, zippy acidity and clean citrus notes. A pure expression of the fantastic Albarino grape!

‘R’ de Rieussec 2021, A.C. Bordeaux, France
£40.00 – £216.00 Buy An almost equal blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon that provides a beautiful pale-yellow colour with youthful glints of green. The nose is reserved before aeration, but already offers a glimpse of a very fresh wine. After aeration, the Sauvignon aromas emerge first. They are classic with a hint of exoticism. Then come more flowery notes of Sémillon. The oak is very well-integrated. On the palate, the attack offers volume without being excessive, and reveals a pleasant, tight structure. This is an 'R' that will be remembered: simultaneously lively and delicate, with superb length! -

Le Merle Blanc de Château Clarke 2021, A.C. Bordeaux, France
£40.00 – £216.00 Buy It kicks off with a touch of citrus peel and jasmine then leads to lemongrass and slightly richer creamier notes from the judicious oak interaction. The palate is clean and expressive with freshness and tension balanced by richness of fruit and a delicate toasty savoury note. This is very clever winemaking that brings together all the qualities you expect in a fine dry white wine. No need to cellar, serve this summer with shellfish and sunshine.
