£32.00 – £172.80 Buy Marques de Tomares Reserva is aged for a total of 60 months; 30 months in French oak barrels, and a further 30 months resting the cellar after bottling. This level of maturity has enabled the wine to shake off its tannic structure and allowed its wonderful complexity to shine The vines that deliver the fruit destined for this Gran Reserva blend were planted as early as 1930- this enables a degree of complexity and concentration – which is evident on the palate. Tempranillo and Granciano are vinified with a splash of Viura which helps to lift the blend. After an hour in decanter the wine offers red cherry, cigar box, dark chocolate shavings, toasted vanilla and layers of warm spice. -

The younger vines are in the bottom of the valley, and the older vines on side terraces. The wine shows citrus, pear and stone fruit on the nose with a persistent creamy palate, a mineral core and long clean finish. -

£16.95 – £91.50 Buy Very floral nose full of lifted ripe strawberries, vanilla fudge, pepper, toasted spice, savoury oak and hints of blackcurrant. The palate is all red fruits with plums and strawberries at the fore. Mouth-filling yet supple and approachable. After an hour in the decanter this wine delivers a wonderful balance of ripe black fruit and savoury notes. There's a classic restrained feel to this wine, although it has ample levels of ripe fruit that should please the contemporary wine drinker.
