  Flechas de Los Andes Gran Malbec 2019, Vista Flores, Argentina

  £25.95 – £140.10 Buy This is an inky and incredibly intense Malbec, characters which are evident on both the palate and nose. After aeration the nose reveals notes of blackberry liqueur, roasted coffee, vanilla, crushed flowers and minerals. The tannins are sweet yet fairly prominent, so it is advised that you give this wine an hour or two in a decanter and serve with a protein rich dish. The fruit on the palate is incredibly dense and concentrated. This is serious Malbec that demands your attention, and one that should grace the dinner table due to it's intensity and power.

  Flechas de Los Andes Gran Corte 2017, Vista Flores, Argentina

  £45.00 – £243.00 Buy Inky purple hues with hints of garnet. The incredible intensity on the nose boasts notes of rich blueberry juice, coffee, beef stock, blackcurrant, vanilla, cocoa and spice. The palate is full bodied, with deliciously fine tannins and exceptional length on the finish. This is a big, powerful yet refined wine; one of our favourites' here at Waddesdon. The palate feels compact and the wine has such confidence. After a few hours in a decanter this vintage feels so complete. It has energy, balance, richness, texture, weight and complexity - all in equal measure.  Take a bow the team at Flechas de Los Andes - this is epic stuff.

  £23.00 – £124.20 Buy The vintage is dominated by Malbec due to the intense heat of the vintage. The nose is rich and sweet-edged with notes of blueberry, cassis, red cherry and figs with hints of dark chocolate. The palate is lusciously textured with a long fruit-filled finish. After a few years in the bottle this beautiful wine has shed it's youthful verve, leaving an accomplished elegant feel and an altogether better sense of balance and maturity.  It's hard to think of a more impressive bottle of Malbec at £23.00

The palate is rich and fruit-forward with bags of creamy cassis, blackberry, spice, and black tea on the finish. As with any grape, the careful hand of the producer means everything - let's be clear no-one knows Malbec better than the Catena family, and DBR Lafite are among the finest wine producers on the planet. It's no surprise then that this fruit-filled, punchy and utterly gorgeous Malbec delivers oodles of luscious black fruit and spice.  The 2020 represent a return to form for Aruma with notes of violets, cassis and chocolate covered blueberry. Great stuff!
