Exotic fruit, mango and pineapple predominate over the citrus notes that are more subdued for now. The oak from the barrel-ageing is well-integrated. The palate immediately presents superb freshness, resulting from a summer during which temperatures did not become excessively high. The wine has lots of volume but remains lively and ethereal thanks to its acidity. Flavours follow one another throughout the tasting, in particular fresh pear and notes of white flowers. Overall, the palate is characterized by length, balance and harmony, and a long aftertaste.

  £40.00 – £216.00 Buy An almost equal blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon that provides a beautiful pale-yellow colour with youthful glints of green. The nose is reserved before aeration, but already offers a glimpse of a very fresh wine. After aeration, the Sauvignon aromas emerge first. They are classic with a hint of exoticism. Then come more flowery notes of Sémillon. The oak is very well-integrated. On the palate, the attack offers volume without being excessive, and reveals a pleasant, tight structure. This is an 'R' that will be remembered: simultaneously lively and delicate, with superb length!

Medium bodied on the palate with fresh, soft, persistent tannins, combined with a pleasant acidity, producing an easy-to-drink wine, to share on special occasions or enjoy on a daily basis. Despite, in essence, this being the entry-level wine of the property, there's nothing thin or dilute about it. This is an incredibly reliable wine that offers great pleasure at £15 a bottle.

The nose offers an array of black fruit, earthy toasted spice and cedar. There's a freshness and crunch to the palate which will ensure this wine cellars well. However, a quick decant enables the silky plush edge to come through which allows for immediate pleasure.

A swirling of the glass will reveal notes of toasted oak, spices and pencil lead delicately woven together. Assertive on the palate, this full-bodied wine shows great persistence and rich flavours. This wine will benefit from further cellaring, yet it shows well after a couple of hours in a decanter.

  £15.00 – £81.00 Buy Bright, very pale yellow colour tinged with green. Good range of aromas on the nose, with delicate notes of juicy white fruit and vine peaches. Ethereal balance on the palate, initially very lively the wine then develops volume. The finish is rich and lingers with intense notes of tropical fruit (mango and pineapple), underscored by a pleasant minerality.

  £17.00 – £91.80 Buy Malbec is all the rage in the UK, and has been for a few years. The grape variety flourishes in Mendoza, and it would be fair to say it produces the best results on the planet. As with any grape, the careful hand of the producer means everything - let's be clear no-one knows Malbec better than the Catena family, and DBR Lafite are among the finest wine producers on the planet. It's no surprise then that this fruit-filled, punchy and utterly gorgeous Malbec delivers oodles of luscious black fruit and spice.  The 2020 represent a return to form for Aruma with notes of violets, cassis and chocolate covered blueberry. Great stuff!
