After a few minutes there's cool blackberry coulis, warm slate, fresh tobacco, cedar, violets and graphite. The palate is compact and concentrated with fine tannins. You can feel the quality, but it is slightly reserved in the mid-palate. Whilst it offers very enjoyable drinking you can't help feel its best days lay ahead. It is very 'Lafite' in style and typical of the vintage. -
