Built in 1889 and filled with colourful and exotic birds, the much loved Aviary at Waddesdon plays an important role in conservation breeding projects of endangered species. Around one third of the species in the Aviary are at risk of extinction to some degree. In 1923 it was decided to hang the panels in the dining room, but it is not known whether they were ever installed.
