In 1923 it was decided to hang the panels in the dining room, but it is not known whether they were ever installed. Almost all of the 108 original pieces have survived in their entirety, each one hand painted by different painters including Louis-Denis Armand l’aîné, who was well known for his incredibly intricate paintings of exotic birds. Illustrated and designed by British artist Madeleine Floyd, soft feathered plumes and elegant porcelain shapes dance together in a contemporary design that admires the past and adds charm to the future. -
