To mark Remembrance this autumn, a large-scale art installation returns to the grounds at Waddesdon.

The silhouettes of 400 life-size soldiers, sailors and airmen and 250 poppy wreaths will be displayed in the wider grounds at Waddesdon in a striking art installation, the largest Standing with Giants installation in the UK.

This year, the silhouettes line the pathway from the Visitor carpark to the Manor, so visitors will be able to walk through them. Another group is displayed on the hill on which the Manor stands. Together, they create a moving statement of commemoration, which offers space to reflect and connect within the natural landscape.

The display is created in partnership with Standing With Giants, a community-based project which works to raise understanding and appreciation of our freedom and to remember and pay tribute to those who gave their lives so we could live ours today.

Visiting information

Standing with Giants is open Wed-Sun, 10am-5pm from 19 Oct – 11 Nov (closed Fri 4 & Sat 5 Nov)

This installation is located on the wider Waddesdon estate, on the approach to the Manor, not within the main gardens.

If you are planning to visit both the installation and the main gardens, please note you will only be able to do so until Sun 30 Oct. After this time, you can still visit the installation but the gardens will be closed as we prepare for the Christmas season.
