Ward Valley Mt. Victoria Pinot Noir 2018, Marlborough New Zealand
Situated in the Southern parts of Marlborough, the Ward Valley Estate was established to make wines that only they could make, showing off the region like no one else. Made by winemaker David Clouston, this Pinot Noir houses excellent fruit intensity with subtle complexities from the terroir. The wine is subsequently aged in new and old French oak barrels for 10 months to add depth, soften the tannins and aid the concentration of fruit.
This pinot noir gives off light ruby hues in the glass. The nose is vibrant, fruity and inviting with notes of dark plum, vanilla, cherry, earth and game. These notes carry onto the palate with a delicate mouthfeel and rounded tannins due to the oak barrel influence.
