Waddesdon Pauillac & Sparkling Wine
Enjoy two of our most popular wines this festive period. Our Pauillac is made exclusively for Waddesdon by the legendary Chateau Mouton Rothschild. The first vintage produced was over a decade ago, and the style and quality remains consistently impressive. Waddesdon Sparkling was introduced in Autumn last year and is created exclusively for Waddesdon by one of the finest producers in England, Gusbourne estate in Kent. These two fabulous wines make a perfect gift for those seeking something special.
Less than 3,000 bottles of Waddesdon Sparkling wine are created every year. This classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier is aged for 22 months on lees which has provided the wine a fluffy creamy texture and toasty complexity. Gusbourne benefits from a warm microclimate thanks to the clay soils, this gives our Sparkling wine a rich fruit forward style that is riper stylistically compared to other estates in the south of England.
Waddesdon Pauillac, a rich Cabernet based claret is created using fruit from the vineyards of Chateau Mouton Rothschild – one of the most celebrated properties in Bordeaux. This rich and exotically styled Pauillac drinks well after an hour in a decanter but has the structure and quality to warrant cellaring. A fully loaded palate of cassis, charred vanilla, cherry stone, and cedar follow a pretty nose of mineral-edged black fruit.
These two fantastic wines come beautifully presented in a wooden branded Waddesdon box.
