Summer Selection Case (Six Bottle Case)
We’ve only had a glimpse of summer this year, but that bit of sunshine got us excited so we decided a Summer case was called for. Kick things off with a glass of the elegant Cremant Rosé from Celene Royale. The Llumi Rosat is next up with it’s bold strawberry fruit and creamy finish. There’s two zippy whites next in the shape of the explosively aromatic Riesling from Apaltagua, and the Ward Valley Sauvignon with it’s piercing intensity and wonderful fruit. It may seem odd having two reds in a ‘summer case’ – however, these are medium bodied and low in tannin, so very easy to drink without a slab of protein. The Grand cuvee Cab. Franc has bags of juicy black fruit and spice whereas the reserva Carmenere adopts a layered approach with suave fruit, savoury notes, subtle smoke and some pepper on the finish. A varied, and quite brilliant case of wine!
