Sommelier Selection

Go that extra mile and amaze your guests with a selection of our most celebrated wines. This case brings together a stunning yet contrasting collection of six wines.

Assuming the first cork to be popped is Champagne, we’ve got a wonderful Blanc de Blancs which brings together creamy and toasty fruits in the most elegant of fashion. We head to Bordeaux to cover two absolute classics in the form of Pauillac and Pomerol. Firstly, Blason de L’Evangile from Lafite’s property in Pomerol which offers seductive layered fruit with Sweet spice and cocoa. Then we have the brilliant Moulin de Duhart which true to its house style boasts a multifaceted nose and palate that is just too easy to drink.  There’s more from Bordeaux, with a dry wine from Sauternes (no sugar here folks) named ‘R’ de Rieussec. A rare and complex wine that pleases all that are lucky enough to taste it. We leave Bordeaux at this point and head to Vista Flores and the site of a (thankfully) inactive volcano which is the home of the vines responsible for producing Gran Corte – a stunningly rich and exotic Malbec blend. After such an impressive array of wines, it is only fitting to finish on a high. This is achieved by gently chilling Pocas 1995, a tawny-style Colheita Port that boasts layers of caramelised hazelnut, walnut, orange peel and sweet spices. A great Port to finish a fantastic case.
