Rare, Unusual and Award Winning Case
Why not delve into the unusual treasures the vinous world has to offer this Christmas? After all, there’s far more to the world of wine than New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and Argentinean Malbec – if you’re partial to wines with a difference, then this case is for you. This case contains two limited edition wines from Apaltagua; a single vineyard Pinot Noir from the cool San Antonio Valley, and Carignan blend from 100 year old vines from the sun soaked Maule valley. Each of these wines are hand numbered, and total production doesn’t exceed 6,000 bottles – which in wine terms is absolutely minute!
Sticking with the limited edition theme, we can proudly introduce the rare Rioja Vega Tempranillo Bianco – this is a genetic mutation of the red skinned Tempranillo that offers an incredible nose of almond, toast, vanilla, cashew and buttery pears.
There’s also representation from the vastly underappreciated Timorasso grape, which offers a wonderful weighty palate with waxy stone fruit, lime zest and hazelnut, from Piedmont in Italy.
Moving on to South Africa, we have the limited edition Integer Cabernet Sauvignon, of which only 6 barrels of this juicy, intense and smoky Cabernet are produced annually.
It makes sense to finish with something classical, so conclude a fantastic day with a glass of Chateau d’Agassac 2000 – a wonderfully developed claret that boasts earthy cassis, cedar, truffles and forest floor. The a palate is elegant and the tannins fully resolved.

Festive Splendour Case
£164.85More info & buy Start the day in style with a glass of Brut NV Champagne from Domaine Barons de Rothschild. This rich and beautifully balanced Champagne offers a creamy mouthfeel with a long nutty finish. The vast majority of the fruit comes from Grand Cru parcels and that's clearly evident in the quality. After a glass of Champagne, Baronne Charlotte, a dry white Graves seems like the obvious choice. This classical blend of Semillion and Sauvignon Blanc delivers minerality and layers of citrus peel and toast. Staying in Bordeaux, the next wine that naturally follows Baronne Charlotte would be Reserve Pauillac 2014 - this elegant blend of Merlot and Cabernet shows off an enticing yet relaxed nose of earthy spice and black fruit. From this point onward the intensity steps up a little; Los Vascos Grande Reserve brings together perfectly ripe fruit, layers of spice, cocoa and smoke. The penultimate wine can be lovingly referred to as 'a bit of a beast' - it's full bodied, intense, very powerful yet soft and rounded. There's nowhere to go after a wine of such magnitude, apart from Port or maybe brandy. with that in mind, you'll be thankful we've included a bottle of Fonseca crusted Port. This wine benefits from a gentle decanting, but patience will be rewarded. After an hour in the decanter this port boasts notes of blueberry, spice, eucalyptus and cocoa. for further details please see the links below Rothschild Champagne Brut NV, Reims, Champagne Pauillac Special Reserve 2014, A.C.
