Pinzellada Negre 2016, D.O. Terra Alta (Six Bottle Case)
Pinzellada is the new range from Celler Alimara and this wine is the predecessor to their superb La Xispa Seleccio. The Pinzellada Negre is a blend of 74% Carignan and 26% Grenache. Both varietals are sourced from old vines aged between 30-40 years old in the region of Terra Alta. The wine is also aged in a mixture of new and old French oak barrels to aid the depth, balance and complexity of flavour. Pinzellada Negre is rich, intense, well structured and absolutely stunning value for money.
The Pinzellada Negre shows notes of juicy black fruit, cedar wood hints, a touch of smoke and liquorice. The palate is rich and intense, yet still controlled and soft with developed, soft tannins and great acidity.
