Mouton Cadet, since its first release in the 1930’s, has become the most successful and iconic brand in Bordeaux. In the 1990’s Baroness Philippine revitalised the brand by releasing a ‘reserve range’ that focused on smaller parcels in Bordeaux with superior quality fruit.

Classically styled with redcurrants, red cherry, bilberry and coffee bean on the nose. The palate is medium bodied with a touch of spice from the oak maturation and delicate red fruits deriving from the significant percentage of Merlot in the blend. The tannins are fine and sit firmly in the background allowing you to enjoy the supple elegant nature of this claret.

The finish offers up the charming richness of St Emilion that we has made the appellation so famous. After an hour in a decanter this vintage possesses a silky, elegant character with notes of cherry, plums, tobacco and liquorice. This fruit forward vintage lends itself to a variety of dishes due to its soft juicy texture.
