Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Casablanca Chile
Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) acquired the Vina Los Vascos estate in 1988. This new era has witnessed significant investment in the vineyard and winery, and the resulting wines have flourished. The intuition that the vineyards of Los Vascos possessed the potential to produce fine wines has certainly been confirmed. The vast estate now covers close to 700ha and contains numerous parcels and sites allowing for the production of an array of different styles.
Fresh and clean and very fragrant with great complexity; gooseberry, elderflower, lime, white peach and sage on the nose. There’s lovely clean citrus fruit to balance the acidity and a good concentration of fruit on the finish. This is really fantastic Sauvignon Blanc, always consistent and delivers everything you could wish for in a vibrant crisp white wine.

Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, Colchagua Chile£12.75 Buy The wine displays a vibrant ruby colour, with ripe blackcurrant and redcurrant fruit characters with a touch of mint on the nose. After a few years in the bottle this medium bodied Cabernet has shed its tannin leaving elegant cassis and peppery notes. Incredibly easy to drink, a great pop and pour for 2020! This Cabernet is consistent, reliable, and good value for money.
Los Vascos Le Dix 2016, Colchagua Valley, Chile£42.95 Buy Youthful yet intellectual. Supple and sweet edged with a wonderfully complex nose ranging from blueberry to liquorice, nutmeg, cloves and dark chocolate. Stunning concentration on the nose and palate. This is inky and dense, with a gorgeously rich mouth feel and layers of ripe black fruit peppered with spice. It is of course young, and its best years are yet to come, but the quality is clearly evident after an hour in the decanter. In fact, we would forgive you for drinking it now with a dish rich in protein.
