Los Vascos Grande Reserve 2017, Colchagua Chile (Six Bottle Case)
Los Vascos is a vast estate that was acquired by DBR (Lafite) in 1988 which is located near Peralillo, within the Colchagua valley of Chile. Baron Eric de Rothschild searched for years for a vineyard that had the potential to produced world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, and his judgment was certainly accurate as Los Vascos has proven to produce some of the most elegant and complex wines in the region. Grand Reserve is in essence the 2nd wine of Los Vascos. A consistent, complex and magnificently well made wine.

The colour is an intense ruby, with aromas of black cherry, cassis, vanilla, tobacco & cinnamon. Later, the nose develops into ripe black fruit such as mulberry with a note of cocoa. In the mouth, it is rich, round and fleshy. The tannins are silky and elegant and the wine has impressive length with a pleasant pepper and liquorice finish.
This vintage has body, but it’s not full-bodied, somewhere between medium and full if you will. It delivers quality well above its price point and will drink beautifully for at least five years.
