A deeply coloured rosat with plenty of silky red fruit and a long intense finish. There’s plenty of rich strawberry fruit and pomegranate with peripheral notes of rose hips and cream. This bold yet delicious rosé possesses a creamy texture and wonderful freshness. Best described as strawberries and cream in a glass!

La Xispa Selecció 2017, Terra Alta Spain
£29.95 Buy It is reserved at first, then after a little aggravation in the glass it is clear that this is a special wine. It's ripe but never juicy, rich but never heavy. Clever winemaking indeed. Only 175 cases were made in 2017 and La Xispa offers balance, length and complexity well above its price point. A pre-fermentation cold soak and judicious oak management lend freshness and a beautiful balance. Blackberry, figs, coffee, mocha and toast on the nose with layers of gorgeously rich fruit with just the right amount of acidity, tannin and oak. Great stuff.
