Les Argelieres Cabernet Franc Grande Cuvee 2015, IGP Pays d’Oc
Produced by Marilyn Lasserre, Les Argelieres Cabernet Franc provides fabulous value for money and exhibits incredibly skilled winemaking. Madame Lasserre has taken the rustic wines of the region and crafted them into an altogether more polished and elegant style.
This wine is made solely from Cabernet Franc grapes collected from a few parcels of land in the Languedoc – Roussillon. On the nose this vintage reveals peripheral notes of green peppercorns and delicate smoke, centred around a core of ripe blackberry fruit and wild berries. The finish reverts back to a spicy note with decent length and well balanced acidity. Those looking for a medium bodied red for the summer would be hard pushed to find better quality at this price point.
