Légende Rouge Magnum 2016, A.C Bordeaux 150cl
Légende from DBR Lafite is a range of wines produced using fruit harvested from various terroir across Bordeaux. Légende is the only branded range of Bordeaux wines that DBR Lafite produce, and rather than opting for mass production using substandard fruit they prefer to limit production and focus on high quality parcels. The result is a consistent, respectable and interesting range of wines that stay true to Lafite’s classic style of elegance and layered complexity.
2016 marks an incredible vintage for Bordeaux, reminiscent stylistically of the legendary 1990 vintage. There’s plenty of ripe fruit on the nose, leaning towards redcurrant, raspberry and blackberry – lending an indication that Merlot makes a considerable contribution here. The palate is juicy yet well balanced with all the right components in all the right places. Elegance and freshness on the finish. Superb from the magnum. Drink or hold for a few years.
