Christmas Sparkling Selection (Six Bottle Case)

It’s no secret that the south of England has become a hot-spot for the production of world-class sparkling wine, a fact that is fortified by the numerous Champagne producers scrambling to acquire land in Sussex and Kent. The Champagne region produces an ever-increasing amount of still wine; has global warming forced their attention away from Sparkling wine production? Maybe Champagne is no-longer the promised land for lovers of Sparkling wine? Whatever you choose to believe, it’s clear that the English Sparkling wine boom is only just beginning. With over 500 active English vineyards we have a plethora of choice at our finger tips.

Tasting notes

This wonderful cases contains two bottles of the following;

Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2016; This is serious English Sparkling wine. The nougat, marshmallow complexity that brings out the hazelnut and toasted brioche act as a reminder to the sheer quality of Gusbourne estate. This is very special wine indeed

Chafor Brut 2015; produced just 12 miles from Waddesdon, this rich toasty Cuvee provides abundant bottle complexity with notes of caramelized hazelnut, bread dough, figs and baked apple. This is fun, easy-going and will drink beautifully for a decade.

Harrow & Hope NV Brut Reserve; produced less than 25 miles from Waddesdon. The still wine is partly aged in barrel before 2nd fermentation and aging for 36 months. The result is a fabulously complex wine with great structure.
